Studio Profile: Editors of the Morning Rush
FLORENCE · Via de' Tornabuoni · Staff report
A family bathroom should feel like a quiet chapter in a busy palazzo — not a showroom that fights the stone. — Elena Marchetti, co-founder
Why we chose Tornabuoni
The studio sits above a bookshop where clients can review material boards without crowding a building site. Central Florence keeps us walking distance to suppliers in San Lorenzo and to site visits across the UNESCO buffer zone.
We keep sample libraries of pietra serena trims, zellige batches, and brass patina swatches that change under Tuscan daylight rather than LED panels alone.
What we refuse to do
We do not sell fixtures online, manage construction contracts, or promise fixed build timelines. Those tasks belong to your impresa edile. We deliver measured layouts, finish schedules, and styling notes your contractor can price.
We also decline projects that require stripping protected fresco adjacency or moving main stack risers without condominium approval.

Team on the page
Elena leads client workshops and colour stories. Luca surveys ceiling heights, niche depths, and ventilation grilles. Part-time collaborator Giulia Rota drafts mirror elevations and lighting layers for dim Oltrarno wells.
External photographers are never hired for this site — project descriptions are written from site notes so owners retain privacy.
Neighbourhoods we know
Regular commissions come from Santo Spirito, San Niccolò, Campo di Marte, and the hills above Fiesole where stone farmhouses need guest en-suites. Each district carries different humidity and different condominium rules.
We maintain a short list of sympathetic artisans who understand listed interiors and who return calls in Italian or English.
Working philosophy
Children grow; guests arrive; elders visit. A styled bath should absorb those shifts with adjustable storage and lighting rather than a one-off trend. We document three scenarios — weekday rush, guest weekend, quiet evening — before signing off a layout.
That discipline is why retainers from 2022 clients still book seasonal refresh visits when grout tones need editing after a summer rental.
